Our Night at the B & B!

After a long Saturday completing our Pre Cana for the church I thought I would take Read on a surprise night away. I took him to The Orchard House in Granville, Ohio. It was our first experience at a B & B together and we had the best time. The house was so beautiful-I wanted all of the fabulous antiques the owners had found. Our room was titled The Walden Room. It was spotless and so comfortable.  I loved everything from the curtains to the wallpaper to the antique desk.

This is where we hung out, drank hot chocolate, ate homemade chocolate chip cookies and read the newspaper. Bliss.

This was the beautiful dining room where we had wine and cheese hour with the other wonderful guests staying at the house.

All pictures were taken from The Orchard House Website

These are a few photos we took ourselves.

We were able to take our wine out back and visit with all of the animals. They had many more than we took photos of but it was FREEZING for the beginning of October! They had llamas, dogs, ducks, a potbellied pig and more. They were all so funny...especially the pig lovingly named Bacon :).

This guy was in the front next to the house. He ran right over say hello. I must say he was a tad annoyed he ran all the way over and we didn't have anything to feed him.

They had an adorable breakfast nook next to the dining room with individual tables. I really liked the other couples that were staying at the house. But after spending the night before with them at a local pub it was nice to eat our breakfast alone. The breakfast was amazing! Apple pancake and the BEST bacon I have ever eaten in my life!!! It tasted like a cross between bacon and candy. Delicious!!

The house is only a short ride to downtown Granville where we had dinner. I wish we would have arrived at the house earlier so we could have taken advantage of the shops downtown. If anyone finds themselves in Granville, I highly recommend The Orchard House!

Fall!

It has been unusually cold here in Columbus Ohio the past few days. Cold enough for cords and sweaters. Not typical for September weather. Here are some things I would love to get me in the mood for fall!!

This long gold tassel necklace would be adorable over a black turtleneck. Plus it's only $26!

I just ordered this turtleneck from Land's End Canvas and it is so comfortable. I'm tempted to order it in a few more colors since it's on sale for $24.00. Love the red for tailgating for OSU games.

I have these pants in black and they are perfect for the winter. Warm and stretchy. I would love them in this herringbone fabric.

I've been lusting over these Coach boots for a while now. Too bad they carry a $450 price tag.

I've also had this fur vest on my wish list for a while now. Hoping it makes it under the tree for Christmas!

Farewell Priscilla of Boston

I am so thankful that I wound up ordering my Priscilla of Boston wedding gown before they made the announcement that they are shutting their doors. It's very sad that they are closing after 65 years of beautiful dresses. They told me my dress will be in early- December instead of March- and that the quality will not be compromised. I'm excited to see the dress earlier than expected but am worried about finding a great alterations person. Here are some of my favorite Priscilla gowns.

This next dress was the only other dress I tried on at Priscilla. If our wedding had a different feel to it- this would have been the one. It was gorgeous!!!

Budget Bridal Gowns

Here are some dresses that are under $1,000. Not too shabby for a wedding dress!

If I was having a more casual wedding I would definitely chose a LulaKate wedding gown. They are simple yet beautiful.

Coral

We are at the end of summer with Labor Day approaching so quickly. I can't believe how fast this summer went. It really was a great one with lots of time with great friends and family. We watched many of our wonderful friends get married and had a blast at each of their weddings. I thought I would make a blog post dedicated to coral- one of my favorite accent ideas. I have coral bedding, paintings, dishes, etc. :)

I received these from my parents as an engagement gift and I absolutely love them and can't wait to use them.

Painted Coral Napkins, Set of 6

These are also from Pottery Barn and on my wish list.

I had to include some blue coral. Another one of my favorites!

I want this bench! Saw a similar one in red coral at HomeGoods a few weeks ago and was tempted to buy it. But....we just don't have the room right now.
