It's Almost my Bridal Shower!!!

It's almost my bridal shower in my hometown and I CANNOT wait! I'm so excited that 3 of my bridesmaids will be there including my two friends from Ohio. The whole shower is a surprise and I can't wait to see who is coming. I know that my mom and sister will have planned a great party- they always do! Read's mom and my grandmother are also making the trip from out of town. We will have a full house but it will be a blast. After the shower we can just have a few cocktails and relax on Saturday night.

Not only will I have my shower but Read and I will meet with the priest that is marrying us for the first time as a couple. I've known him since I was 12 and we are so excited he is able to marry us. He is funny and serious all at the same time.

My girls are also able to come with me to my dress fitting and the cake tasting! So excited to taste the cake- even though I gave up sweets for Lent. I'm only getting married once :)! I can't wait for them to see my dress in person- they've seen photos but it's much prettier in person.

I'm still leaning towards a simple white cake with flowers on top. If they are able to do our new monogram I think I will add that too. Something like this:

These flowers look very similar to what we will have as our cake topper. So simple yet classic.

In other exciting wedding news: OUR INVITATIONS ARRIVED!!!

I haven't seen them in person yet but my mom sent me a picture and they are gorgeous. Completely opposite of what I thought I originally wanted but they are just perfect for our look and feel of the wedding. I can't wait to see them in person this weekend. The calligraphy on the envelopes are gorgeous! And even though there were a few mistakes we didn't catch, the company has been wonderful to work with. If anyone is looking for wedding invitations I would definitely recommend Reave's Engraving in NC. They gave us a great price for letterpress invitations and even included the actual letterpress in the package of invitations. Maybe I will have to frame them in our house somewhere.

These are not our invitations but this is the company that we used. They do have a similar feel though.

Ring Bearer!!

We are SO excited to have Read's little cousin as our ring bearer. He is going to be perfect for the role. He's very handsome and takes his job very seriously! We are finalizing his outfit and have been searching for the perfect bow tie! He will be wearing khakis and a blue blazer just like the groomsmen.

Here are some shots of adorable ring bearers!

We are using a lace pillow for our rings but here are some other cute ideas.

All Things Bridesmaids!

I'm so excited to spend a whole weekend with all of my bridesmaids at the end of April! Read's mom has been putting together AMAZING goodie bags for all of the girls- I can't wait to see them open them at the rehearsal dinner. I'm also excited to give them their gifts from me! I hope they like everything.

This post is dedicated to all things bridesmaids. Some may be pictures of things that we are doing!

This is the dress that 3 of my girls will be wearing.

My sister is the maid of honor and will be wearing this dress.

These monogrammed shirts are too cute for the morning of the wedding.

Love the long blue ones!! But they definitely need some monogramming!

Here are some other Lilly bridal parties! Love it!

There is a jewelry store in Boston called JoJoLovesYou and I stumbled across it on a wedding blog. I fell in love with the jewelry and my bridesmaids will be wearing a pair of earrings but I won't say which pair!

These are the shoes the girls will be wearing. I've heard nothing but good things on wedding blogs about how comfortable they are!

94 Days!

We have only 94 days to go!!!  I can't believe how quickly this time has gone. In the next three months I will have three showers and my bachelorette party. I am so excited for all of them but it's finally sinking in that this is all going to come to an end. This past year since our engagement has been one of the best. From our engagement parties to just spending time with our families and talking about the wedding- I'm just not ready for it to be over yet! Not only has this year reinforced how lucky I am to be a part of such a wonderful family but I know that I am marrying into another caring, thoughtful, and wonderful family. Read and I are so blessed to have so many loving people in our lives and are so excited to share our wedding day with them all.

There are a few things left to do. We need to finish up what we are buying for out of town bags, order table numbers, order rehearsal dinner guest book, attend our cake tasting, final dress fitting, and planning our playlist with the band.

Oh and order the pug attire :). They're going to be pretty darn cute if you ask me!

Hydrangea Seersucker Custom Flower Dog Collar

Seersucker Dog Bow Tie Collar (Bowtie) - Your choice of color

Ok...let's be honest. A tad over priced for something they will probably wear once....BUT...we are only getting married once so they better look cute!

We just finalized the menu and some of the things we are having look something like this!

Mini Veal Sliders

Shrimptini Station

Ahi Tuna on a Wonton Skin

Miniature Crab Cakes

Crusted Lamb Chops

And soooooo much more. I'm so excited to try everything since I've tried to stick to a diet these last few months before the wedding. But what I am most excited about is our signature cocktail. I won't say exactly what it is but it looks something like this!

My First Post in a LONG Time!!!

Ok!! So I haven't posted in a long, long time! We are officially less than a 100 days until the wedding and we are starting to wrap everything up! I can't believe it!

We finally chose our chairs and linens. Silver chairs and white textured tablecloths. Our room looks different than this but you get the idea. We will be having pink, green and white flowers on the tables so that will add a pop of color.

I won't give away our exact flowers but they were inspired by something like this. Without the fake buds added in.

We decided to go with a pink uplighting in our venue since we would like romantic lighting as opposed to bright, white lighting. We will most likely choose something a little less pink than this- but this is our venue.

Here are a few updates for now! More tomorrow!

Jersey George!

This is my first post in a long time. Between grad school, travelling and the holidays, life has been crazy.  Sadly, our black pug Jersey George was diagnosed with a terminal brain disease right before Thanksgiving. He has been doing well so far on his medications and we hope he will continue to do so.  Here are some black pug things and pictures in honor of my JG!
