Wedding Dresses

I had such a fabulous time trying on wedding dresses this past weekend and I am so happy that I found and ordered my dress! I don't know if I can wait until March to try it on again. Here are a few dresses that are absolutely beautiful but not mine :) Some I have tried on others I just love.

This one I tried on and LOVED it...unfortunately it didn't fit in with my vision.

Priscilla of Boston

This one I've seen in magazines and on many blogs but saw it in person over the weekend. Absolutely beautiful!

I tried on one very similar to this and I loved it but it was a little much for me!

Justin Alexander Bridal

Love this next one with the sheer top and beading.

Tried this dress on but it didn't have enough volume for me and seemed a little too casual.

Paloma Blanca

Saw this next one in person and it's fantastic and so sweet.

Cakes!

Cake tasting is something I think both Read and I are looking forward to. I'm not sure what we want exactly but I'm hesitant about getting fondant. I've ordered it for his birthday cake in the past and the taste was not pleasant even though it looked fantastic. I'm pretty sure we want a more simple style cake but I can't help but admire the more glamorous cakes!

This cake has the exact cake stand my mom has purchased for our wedding day. I'm in love with it!!

This next cake is absolutely beautiful but I'm not sure if it is us.

This cake would be perfect for an outdoor and more casual wedding. Especially if the bride wanted a cake table with various cakes.

This is so beautiful and simple. Just what we are looking for.

All previous cakes can be found at Style Me Pretty

The following cakes are my favorites on The Knot. Very simple but also beautiful!

When Brandi couldn’t decide exactly what she wanted in her wedding cake, she ended up showing the baker a picture of her gown. The baker then came up with the quilted pattern, which she used on the top and bottom tier of the cake. Leftover flowers from th...

The wedding cake was a three-layer raspberry swirl butter pound cake, with buttercream icing and celery green fondant, but guests had to wait to get their hands on a slice -- though the cake was on display at the reception, it wasn’t served until the next...

The deep chocolate framboise cake was filled with dark chocolate mousse and studded with fresh raspberries. The cake was iced in buttercream, then covered in light green fondant, and topped with fresh pink hydrangeas.

Instead of adding fresh blooms to their buttercream-frosted cake, Amy and Lawrence opted for clay ones. They took them home after the wedding as colorful keepsakes.

Trend: Believable ColorsOpt for organic, sophisticated, and edible cake colors -- not a Crayola kaleidoscope. Think peachy pink, not Barbie pink; go lime green, not dark green; do robin‘s egg blue, not bright blue. If you want a bold hit of color, fo...

Which ones are your favorites? I have no idea which one to go with!

Fun Etsy Finds!

I know this isn't really wedding related but now that I have the summer off I spend more time on Etsy than I would like to admit. Here are a few things I have come across over the past few days. Enjoy!

    I LOVE this print!
Lattice Work Designer Pillow / 18 inch / Navy Blue / Zipper Enclosure / SHIPS WITHIN 24 HOURS

This bag is great. Cute for the mall or the beach!

Sailor Tote Bag --for market or beach or gym-- -yellow and white bold striped, X-Large and cotton rope straps-

These little sea urchin planters are too cute. I could see them on the breakfast bar above my sink or on a windowsill above a kitchen sink if I had one!!

Shell Button Duo // Pink Urchin and Air Plant

These pencils would be a cute gift for Valentine's Day or just for everyday. Especially for a teacher ;)

And last but certainly not least- I had to include something with a pug on it. Love these note cards!

Lilly/Preppy Themed Shower

I've seen a few Lilly/Preppy themed bridal showers and they have always been adorable. I saw this one in Charleston Weddings right after we got engaged down in South Carolina. Preppy perfection :) From the paper lanterns to the pink to the green and pink striped table cloth to the monogrammed place cards- I love it all!

The next one is Lilly themed with patterned table cloths, shift dresses cookies and pink cocktails.

I already have my Lilly Pulitzer guest book (which I picked up at a warehouse sale months before I got my engagement ring- don't tell Read ;)) and a friend bought me the matching photo album and picture frame as well. I'm hoping my sister will incorporate them into my shower somehow ;)

They just so happen to have matching invitations and stationary.

Save The Dates

I know that most of the save the dates that we have received have been magnets (and we will probably have magnets as a part of our save the date too) but there are so many fun options out there!!

If you are having a wedding in Atlantic City or Las Vegas these are perfect! And it looks pretty easy to make your own scratch offs.

Scratch-Off Save-the-Date How-To

The following save the date would fit very well into our pink and green theme. Plus it's unique and could be hung somewhere around the house.

We had custom match books made for our wedding reception but these are a cute idea for the save the date as well.

All ideas from Martha Stewart Weddings

We will probably use something like this. They are made by a vendor on Etsy and would be perfect for our theme. They are almost identical to my bridesmaids dresses. But I am still contemplating if it is what I really want to do. What do you think?

Save the Date Magnets for the Lilly Pulitzer lover

There is always the photo card save the date and these are simple but classy. We could do the ribbon in a green or pink instead of blue.

Gorgeous Wedding

Saw this wedding on Style Me Pretty and I am in love with it! From the setting in France, to the striped bridesmaids dresses and the beautiful flowers. I had to share these pictures.

Pugs in Weddings

So although the pugs won't be a part of the ceremony or the reception they will definitely be in our pictures. Here are a few pictures I've found that will be our inspiration!

A fawn pug and a black pug!!!

Thanks to my future mother-in-law I already have these salt and pepper shakers. This is adorable and I think they have to be on our head table at the reception in honor of the pugs.

Cocktail Hour

I'm excited for all parts of the reception but we're hoping the cocktail hour is great! We're hoping to have tons of food and drinks but have been talking about how to make the cocktails fun. Read's a huge fan of rum and Coke so we'd like to do something like this. I already purchased the red striped paper straws for all of our cocktails.

I'd also like to have a signature cocktail in pink. I have no idea what kind of drink to serve. Any suggestions?!  These are fun...and they have the same straws I've already purchased.
